Wasabi Marinated Grilled Wild Mushrooms


  • 3 boxes shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced 

  • 1 bunch maitake mushrooms 

  • 1 bunch oyster mushrooms 

  • 1 bunch trumpet mushrooms

  • 1/3 cup coconut aminos 

  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil 

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons wasabi powder

  • 1 tablespoon Tamari or soy sauce 

  • Avocado or sesame oil, for grilling


  1. Clean and pat dry mushrooms and place into a large ziplock bag. 

  2. Assemble ingredients. Place the coconut aminos, sesame oil, wasabi powder, and soy sauce into the bag and mix to combine. Let mushrooms marinate for 3 hours. 

  3. Once marinated, heat a grill and grease a grill bowl with avocado oil. Place the mushrooms inside and grill for about 10-15 minutes, using tongs to flip as it cooks. 

  4. Serve.

Additional notes

This recipe can be made in a skillet over the stove.
